Titanium heat exchangers are suitable for many fields because of these properties

Sep 14, 2022

A titanium heat exchanger is a heat exchanger made of high-quality titanium tubes that transfer part of the heat of the hot fluid to the cold fluid. It has many advantages of industrial pure titanium, is a common equipment in many industrial sectors such as chemical industry, petroleum, electric power, food, etc., and occupies an important position in production.

1. Physical properties:

The heat exchanger is made of high-quality titanium tubes. In terms of physical properties, titanium tubes have the advantages of light weight and excellent mechanical properties. In addition, titanium alloys have good heat resistance, low temperature toughness and fracture toughness.

2. Material properties:

In practical applications, the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger is closely related to the material and process characteristics of the heat exchanger. In the process of material concentration, solutes or impurities are often deposited on the heating surface, and the precipitation crystals form scale, which affects heat transfer; some solutes are sensitive to heat, and stay at high temperature for too long and are easy to deteriorate; some materials are more corrosive or viscous. higher.

3. Chemical properties:

In terms of chemical properties, titanium in titanium heat exchangers shows good stability and corrosion resistance in various industrial solutions, and industrial pure titanium is an excellent material for refrigeration equipment accessories.

Industrial pure titanium can be used in hydrocarbons, alkali solutions, salt solutions and other media, it is not easy to react with them, and has excellent corrosion resistance. Pure titanium has good corrosion resistance to low-concentration inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and nitric acid at room temperature.

However, with the increase of medium concentration and working temperature, industrial pure titanium is easy to react with the above inorganic acids, which reduces the corrosion resistance of titanium. Therefore, attention should be paid to the medium concentration and working temperature during the heat transfer process. Industrial pure titanium has good corrosion resistance to acids such as formic acid, oxalic acid, and lactic acid at room temperature. Therefore, the heat exchanger has a wide application area and a long service time.
